From the South China Sea to the Yellow River! Sanya CBD Teams Up with Zhengzhou to Boost Cultural Relics and Artifacts Industry Cooperation

Mar 26, 2026

On March 23, the Sanya Cultural Relics and Artifacts Industry Cooperation Conference (Zhengzhou Stop), themed "Encountering Free Trade, Bridging Rivers and Seas," was held in Erqi District, Zhengzhou. Hosted by the Sanya Central Business District (CBD) Administration, the event delivered significant outcomes. A cooperation agreement was signed between the Sanya CBD Administration and the People's Government of Erqi District. Meanwhile, the National Base for Cultural Trade Export (Sanya) partnered with the National Cultural Export Base (Kaifeng Section), creating effective synergy between cultural trade hubs in southern and northern China. In the presence of nearly 160 government officials, industry experts, and representatives from cultural enterprises and business associations from both Hainan and Henan, the "Central Plains Cultural Trade Going Global Base" was officially inaugurated—marking a key gateway for Sanya's cultural relics and artifacts industry to expand into the Central Plains region via the Hainan Free Trade Port.

The conference focused on addressing the challenges faced by art industry enterprises in the Central Plains in going global. Through policy briefings, expert insights, and panel discussions, it offered one-stop solutions for enterprises looking to establish a presence in the Sanya CBD. During the policy briefing session, the Sanya CBD Administration presented a detailed overview of favorable policies on cross-border art transactions, bonded exhibitions and auctions, tax incentives, and foreign exchange settlement—clearly outlining practical pathways for Central Plains businesses to go global through Sanya. Xiao Jianyong, Deputy Dean of the Henan Cultural Tourism Research Institute, delivered a keynote speech. Zhou Yunxiang, Curator of the Sanya Shell Culture Museum and Chairman of Henan Dongzhou Culture Development Co., Ltd., as a representative of enterprises already based in the district, shared practical experience on leveraging the Free Trade Port's policy advantages to achieve cross-border circulation of artworks, based on the company's own journey from Henan to Sanya. This provided replicable and actionable overseas expansion pathways for the attending Central Plains enterprises.

By building the "Central Plains Distribution - Sanya Going Global - Global Circulation" golden channel for cultural trade, it aims to achieve a win-win in both cultural value and commercial returns. Moving forward, the two regions will deepen collaboration through the "Central Plains Cultural Trade Going Global Base," contributing to the development of a globally influential cultural relics and artifacts trading platform and a new industry hub within the Hainan Free Trade Port.
