"Blue Dream Melody" Makes Maiden Call to Sanya, Striking a New Chord for Cruise Industry Cooperation
On the morning of November 12, the "Blue Dream Melody" cruise ship owned by Shanghai Blue Dream Cruises slowly entered the Sanya Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal, officially kicking off its maiden visit to Sanya. This marks that the cooperation between Sanya and Blue Dream Cruises in cruise route development has entered a substantive implementation stage, injecting new vitality into the development of the cruise industry in Hainan Free Trade Port.
On the same day, a themed welcome ceremony was successfully held, jointly hosted by Sanya Central Business District Administration and Shanghai Blue Dream Cruises, and co-organized by Sanya CCCC International Cruise Terminal Co., Ltd. A lion dance performance took the lead on the terminal platform, offering a vibrant welcome to the "Blue Dream Melody" with rhythmic drumbeats. After the cruise ship berthed, passengers disembarked one after another and enjoyed jazz performances, dance parades, and interactive sessions with "Yaya", the mascot of the Asian Beach Games, at the exit of the joint inspection building. Qian Xiaoming, member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Sanya Central Business District Administration, presented travelers with orchid garlands symbolizing warm hospitality, immersing the visiting guests in Sanya's tropical coastal charm. Sanya Central Business District and Blue Dream Cruises exchanged first-visit commemorative gifts, further solidifying their cooperation consensus.
Ms. Wang, a tourist from Shanghai, stated, "Upon disembarking, I immediately felt the warmth of Sanya. The lion dance and flower garlands are very distinctive, and I am highly anticipating the upcoming voyage and my trip in Sanya." Liu Lianbin, Executive Vice President of Shanghai Blue Dream Cruises noted that Blue Dream Cruises is actively collaborating with relevant departments in Sanya and channel partners to develop the local customer market in Hainan, establish a sales network system, and create "cruise + land itinerary" products that better cater to local customer preferences, aiming to enhance tourists' overall travel experience.
The visit of "Blue Dream Melody" marks the concrete implementation of the cooperation between Sanya Central Business District and Blue Dream Cruises following the signing of the Cruise Route Cooperation Agreement on May 21, 2025, signifying a solid step forward for Sanya in cruise route introduction and internationalized operations.
This collaboration also vividly demonstrates the industrial chain agglomeration effect of Sanya Central Business District. As of October 2025, 25 cruise industry chain enterprises including China Travel Cruise, Blue Dream Cruises, and Haigong Energy have established their presence in Sanya Central Business District, bringing the total number of cruise and yacht industry chain enterprises in the park to over 150, covering the entire chain including design, sales, and operation and maintenance. With the launch of the "Blue Dream Melody" route, Sanya will further improve the ecological system of "route development - cruise services - industrial supporting facilities" and promote in-depth integration of cruise tourism with the yacht industry and coastal tourism.
The arrival of the "Blue Dream Melody" will further expand tourism connectivity between Sanya and Southeast Asia, injecting strong impetus into the construction of the Cruise Tourism Pilot Zone and the Yacht Industry Reform, Development and Innovation Pilot Zone.
