Recently, the globally renowned cruise line StarCruises announced its itinerary plans, revealing that its Star Voyager will embark on its maiden voyage to mainland China this autumn, with Sanya as its first port of call. This significant development marks a landmark achievement for the Sanya Central Business District in its efforts to connect with international cruise companies and actively promote the development of cruise routes.
In the second quarter of this year, the Sanya Central Business District and representatives from StarCruises held multiple rounds of intensive consultations on matters related to the development of international cruise routes, including route planning, berth allocation, port services, and passenger sourcing. After months of efficient promotion, the Sanya Central Business District, leveraging its open and cooperative approach, comprehensive cruise industry resources, and the policy advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Port, successfully gained the trust of enterprises. This ultimately led to StarCruises' Star Voyager choosing Sanya for its mainland China debut.
On June 23, Star Cruises officially announced its itinerary, explicitly including Sanya in its newly designed boutique cruise routes. The "Star Voyager" will launch with an initial offering of four 5-night voyages, each featuring Sanya, Hainan, China, as a key destination.
A representative from the Sanya Central Business District Administration stated that this collaboration with StarCruises marks a significant milestone for the Sanya Central Business District in implementing the Hainan Free Trade Port policy and vigorously promoting the development of the cruise industry. The launch of the StarCruises route will effectively enhance the international operational capabilities of Sanya Cruise Port, foster a comprehensive international cruise industry ecosystem, and contribute to the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
